My Experience:  In early on a Sunday morning.  A team of executive types were doing an inspection and I must have passed them three or four times and they never once glanced my way.  In fact, two walked in as I was getting my cart and the greeter at the front door said hello to them but they barely acknowledged the older gentleman who was so friendly at 7am.  Their sales and stock price is up, maybe they think they made this happen and not the economy at large.  It is funny to me how business’ act when they are hungry vs. when they are not.  It is like the final drive in a football game when the team with the ball is down by 3.  All of the sudden it’s easy to cover 40 yards in two plays.  I wonder if these guys would have said hello to me or their own employee a year ago when Walmart was in the dumps relatively speaking.  Deli person and cashier were on task and friendly.  The high paid execs prevented this from being perfect.
