My Experience:  Great job from all. The big smile, no hard sell on the insurance and only one hand-shake.  When I had to answer to the young’n about my career choice (What business are you in MR…) I just said, “Stuff.”  He laughed, got it that I didn’t want to chat about my J.O.B. and sent me on my way..yea!

Budget Rental Car Las Vegas, NV 8-19-08

My Experience: I walked up to the counter and the woman told me I was at the wrong Budget Counter and had to go back inside.  I asked if she could help me since I was there and nobody else was around.  She said no since I was not a frequent renter and turned back to the other agents and their chatting.  On my way back inside I passed the Enterprise Counter which had a “Cars Available” sign.  Just for kicks I asked the price, talked them down ten bucks, and felt good that I did not give Ms. Snotty-Budget my business.  Enterprise redeemed themselves after three rough ones, see the post.

Golden Spoon 8-18-08

My Experience: I ordered four different flavors of frozen yogurt to-go.  The nice kid came back and said that one was unavailable.  When I asked if they were out he said, “No, it’s frozen.”   Isn’t that the point…I got another “have a good night” in leiu of a “thank you.”  It’s just not the same.  I say have a good night while being cordial to my neighbor with whom I have not had a financial exchange.  Thank you says to me “we understand you have choices, including the choice not to get any yogurt tonight at all, and we appreciate your business.”

My Experience:  Stopped in to get a to-go order for the family.  The staff was quick and engaged although while having a beer and waiting I did have to listen to them gossip about stuff I did not care to hear about.  Actually, it was one employee who was spouting off and I am sure the other staff members did not want to hear it either.  A little management courage to tell the guy to zip it would go a long way for staff and customer morale.

My Experience: He was very helpful even though I was the jerk on the cell-phone when he walked up.  He stayed polite and insured I got the right water-filter for my fridge.

My Experience: Even though I had a dozen roses in my hand the cashier could not smile or act like she was even slightly wanting to be there.  She also did not have her cash drawer so it stopped the whole line when the guy in front of me went to pay cash. A stoic, “Have a good day”  is not a thank you.

My Experience: The butcher was great.  I am buying filet which is $15.49 a lb and he is engaging and exudes friendliness.  Did he think about the fact that I just had a $28 service experience?Cashier got the job done.
